WWF Germany
The WWF Deutschland is a foundation under public law, established in 1963 in Bonn. Now it’s headquarter is located in Berlin, additional offices were opened in Frankfurt and Hamburg. The staff has grown to about 170 colleagues at present and about 435.000 passive members in 2010. The foundation is conducted by a management board and supervised by a regulatory body of 30 members.
The primary mission in Germany is the protection of the North and the Baltic Seas and their coasts, riversystems, wetlands and forests as well as the recreation of habitats for endangered species like wolf, lynx, bear, otter etc. In Germany the WWF claims a consequent realization of the decided energy transition and of the national biodiversity strategy.
The project was funded from a Leonardo da Vinci grant.
