Five Nations - Five Organisations - Five Partners
The partnership comprised five organisations who work in the field of conservation of the natural environment (countryside, coast, flora and fauna):
- the National Trust (UK);
- the St Helena National Trust (SH);
- the Natuurmonumenten (NL);
- the NABU (DE);
- the Conservatoire du Littoral (FR).

Why we cooperate
There is currently a lack of skills, competencies, knowledge and learning in terms of managing nature reserves in the face of climate change. This is particularly true for coastal areas (cliffs, dunes, beaches, etc) where coastal erosion and sea level rise are challenging the skills, knowledge and experience of the partners' conservation staff and volunteers. The issue of how best to deal with controlling non-native invasive species (be these plant or animal pests) also needs addressing. This partnership was urgently needed in order to help develop new ideas and tools for training conservation staff and volunteers across the sector, helping to address these new learning and skills challenges and raise the competence levels and confidence of staff and volunteers.
The project started in 2010 and was finished in 2012.
